Flag Officers Newsletter - April 2022
This weekend we welcome competitors coaches and family’s attending the 2022 RYA Youth Nationals, hosted by Plas Heli and Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club, and we must start by thanking all the volunteers for their hard work preparing the pontoons, quayside, compound and indoor areas of the centre ready for the event .
This has involved reconfiguring and fitting new pontoons, installing electrical and water supplies on the new quay side camper van parking area, consolidating and upgrading waste disposal and recycling facilities, fitting flag poles and temporary fencing , configuring and upgrading the committee boats and, a spring clean of our wonderful facilities.
With 283 entrants racing 194 boats, sailing on four race areas, it’s going to be a real spectacle, and we wish all the competitors the best of luck and hope all involved in this prestigious event, enjoy the fabulous sailing area and facilities we are so lucky to call home.
Further information can be found on the RYA Youyth Nationals event website here - or download the event smartphone "APP" at the App store (Apple) or Android App Store (Android) search for “RYA Youth Nationals”
We still have volunteer roles to help assist with this event, please contact us at
Our new Catering and Bar operators, Sean and Kellie Devlin, started operations last weekend, and are providing a great service in Plas Heli. During the event there will be the addition of outside caterers during some of the busy periods, and there should be something for everybody all week and through the Easter weekend. Keep an eye on the website for up to date opening hours, information and menus, and enjoy a drink in the bar with spectacular views over Tremadog Bay and beyond to Snowdonia.
AGM
We look forward to welcoming many of our members back to the club over the Easter period, and we have 2022 calendars ready for collection, and a reminder that the AGM is scheduled for 10 am on Saturday 16th April. Once again we thank the contributors and sponsors who have helped us publish this years edition.
Further information and agenda can be accessed here This is a great opportunity to chat to the Flag Officers and discuss the 2022 programme and plans for the club going forward
