Club Officers and Governance Structure

The Committee is chaired by the Commodore and attended by the Officers, and by the Committeee Members. The Committee Members are elected to the Committee at the Annual General Meeting (or co-opted) and each member takes resonsibility for a club section or other area of the workings of the Club. The Flag Officers elect the 2022 Year Book. Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club The Club, Governance and Volunteers next incoming ‘Rear Commodore’ from amongst the serving Committee Members. This election is ratified by the Committee.

Collectively, and under the leadership of the Commodore, the Committee sets the strategic direction of the Club.

The Commodore serves, in that role for two years, and every two years the Flag Officers progress from ‘Rear’ to ‘Vice’ to ‘Commodore’. By the end of the term the Commodore will have been a Flag Officer for six years and will again return after two years ‘rest’ to be the Club President. The President’s role is to support the Commodore and Flag Officers.

All Flag Officers, Officers and Committee Members give their time freely without renumeration.

This large volunteer base enables the club to limit expenditure and consequently keep membership fees as low as possible.

Although we are all volunteers we aim to attend to any request quickly and efficiently but please remember that we are all volunteers!
This Governance structure ensures that the Commodore has a complete understanding of the workings of the club and the requirements of our members, and provides for a continuity of business.
