Work has started on the Grib Groyne at the entrance to Pwllheli Harbour.
This replaces the old groyne which was built when the marina was constructed and had become badley damaged over the years.
This groyne is constructed of substantial rock armour and it is hoped that this will reduce the amount of sand and gravel being deposited in the channel.
We are organising a working party for Saturday 22nd February to prepare the facility for the RYA Youth National Championship
If you are available and can help please send an e-mail to
The Commodore and Flag Officers of CHPSC are delighted to introduce Geoff Harvey, the new Catering and Bar operator at Plas Heli.
Geoff is the proprietor of the Anglesey Arms and the Market Hall in Caernarfon and has many years of experience in providing quality hospitality services.
Geoff said “I am excited with the prospect of developing the full potential of the excellent facilities at Plas Heli, the Welsh National Sailing Academy and Event Centre. Our team headed by Cath Limerick will provide a warm welcome to all visitors and stakeholders at Plas Heli. We will develop the food offering with new menus and 'special' dishes supplemented by a good range of drinks from our own brewery in the Market Hall. In addition, we also look forward to introducing some great local talent with bands and musicians as well as developing larger events and gigs with the likes of Bryn Fon and band.”
"In the interim period we look to be open on Thursday, Friday Saturday from 12 until at least 10.00pm and Sunday from 12-6pm with a food offering starting soon. Please come and support us to develop the centre to be somewhere for all to enjoy."
The Flag Officers have welcomed the news and hope that we, as a club, will provide the new catering and bar team all assistance and support, especially now, in this transition period.
Plas Heli has confirmed that the CHPSC loyalty discount initiative will continue, whereby paid-up members of CHPSC will continue to receive a 10% discount at the bar. The club membership card must be present to enable the discount.
With the new bar and catering arrangements in place it will no longer be possible to pay your membership fee at the bar. All applications, updates and renewals must be done on-line here. If you prefer to pay by cheque, please use the form on the club calendar.
All membership matters must be directed to the Hon Sec, or by contacting one of our flag officers.
Finally, the bar discount for non-2020 members will be turned off on 1st February so avoid disappointment by paying early.

A feature of the calendar is the ability to turn off the activities that are not of interest so that you can concentrate on what matters to you.
