Club members, Mari Davies and Sarah Norbury won the title at Rutland over the weekend. They are both 16 years of age and compete in the Open Youth (U19) category, which means that they needed to beat the best male sailors in Britain- and managed to do that by 10 points!
Four races were held on Saturday with another two on Sunday in winds approaching 28 knots by the end. The girls were very consistent, scoring 3 thirds, a second and 1 race win in the 37 boat fleet.
The event forms part of the selection process the the GBR squad so the girls have made the best possible start to regaining their place for another year.
