A total of 52 sailors arrived in Pwllheli on a dull but dry day on Saturday 15 December to take part in the annual Christmas Regatta, with a good mix of boats there were 15 optimists, 10 Toppers, three 29ers and a general handicap class with Lasers, 420, Fevas and RS200/500.
After registration and briefing the sailors were out on the water for two races before lunch. The wind was less than the forecast of 20 knots and died away during the second race.
After a brief lunch ashore the fleets relaunched for a third and final race followed by the prize giving and food.
The winners of each class were:
Optimist – Gethin Owen
Toppers – Penny Downes
29er - Tilly James and Becky Morris
General Handicap - Aled Goodard (Laser Radial)
