Annwyl Aelodau / Dear Members Â
As January draws to a close, I’m sure you’ll all join me in crossing our fingers for the end of the winter storms that yet again have been battering our corner of Wales and the rest of the UK. It’s good to be able to finally see visible signs of the days getting longer, and that can only mean one thing…boating season is finally getting closer! |

The Plas Heli bar is back open this weekend, just in time for Friday's Guinness Six Nations rugby game France v Wales. All are welcome and a good atmosphere is usually guaranteed! Â
Sean will also be showing the Scotland v Italy and Ireland v England matches over the rest of the weekend. Look forward to seeing you all there! Â

Work partiesI’d like to thank the work party members that turned out a couple of weeks back, on a cold and wet Saturday morning to help dismantle the parts of the step down Versadock on the Plas Heli pontoons. This work has allowed a reconfiguration of the pontoons and opened up space for an extra couple of berths, including the new committee boat, Dylan Ail Don, that arrived recently. The pontoons, however, are now quite slippery in places, after a rather wet winter and so, during the week commencing 24th February, Plas Heli have rented a commercial power washer, and this will be available for the week for berth-holders / crews to use to jet wash the areas around their boats and communal use areas. Your assistance in keeping our pontoons safe and clean is much appreciated. Please contact ops@plasheli.org to arrange your time to use it. Â

A date for the diaryThis year, at the request of several members, we are breaking the tradition of hosting our AGM at the Easter weekend. Easter has become a popular time for some families to head for an early overseas break, and with this year’s somewhat late Easter, and should the weather allow, we have lots of members wanting to get boats out racing and cruising instead of attending meetings, so this year’s AGM will be held on Saturday 29th March. Â
As this weekend should be a popular boat work and launch weekend, we are also planning an informal fitting out supper, that evening, in Plas Heli ... it should be a great chance to catch up after the winter and plan the year's activities! Watch this space for more information soon! |

Compound I’m pleased to announce that we have a new dinghy compound management team, who will be addressing the clean-up and tidy of the dinghy compound area, which has been rather battered by wind. After repeated attempts to contact owners of boats that have been left there for years, with no storage fees paid, arrangements are now in place to start removing and scrapping these boats to make more space for new boats.  Boats that have been paid for will be issued an annual sticker, affixed to your boat, so please ensure you let us know the make, position and colour of your boat if you have paid, or if you wish to claim your boat before scrapping, please contact flag.officers@pwllhelisailingclub.co.uk

| We continue to work closely with RYA CW to provide facilities for training camps, storage, and activities, and we respect the strategic importance of the facilities for events, training and boating in Wales. Â
Community engagement works continues and included our work with clubs and associations, assistance with facilities for a disability boat, fundraising events, classrooms for community groups, meetings, teaching and our work with children in-need. Â
Catering at the centre is with our franchisee operator Sean Devlin Ltd. Â
We are reliant on volunteers and are of course, grateful for all assistance provided by our stakeholder groups and clubs and in particular the Commodore and Flag Officers of Clwb Hwylio Pwllheli Sailing Club. Â
